Worship With Us

Our regular worship times are 8:15 a.m., and 10:30 a.m. with Sunday school for all ages starting at 9:30.
From Memorial Day weekend, through Labor Day weekend, we have on service on Sunday at 9:30 a.m.

Worship at SOTH looks a little different each week.  We love all kinds of music and try to provide a wide variety of styles to enhance our worship experience.  No matter what kind of music, our worship is always true to our Lutheran roots. Singing, prayer, scripture, sermon, and Holy Communion are part of our worship every Sunday.

Music Notes

Music is an important aspect of our worship experience at church. Shepherd of the Hills offers several opportunities to parishioners who wish to share their musical abilities.  From traditional adult choir, to our Out of the Hills bluegrass band, or jazz music provided by the Swingin’ Shepherds.  We also offer opportunities for special music during worship services for those that would like to provide a solo.

About Us

Welcome to the Shepherd of the Hills website!  We are an ELCA Congregation located just west of Colorado State University on Taft Hill Road in Fort Collins.

Who are we?  We are a congregation committed to Building Disciples Together.  Jesus’ “Great Commandment” calls us to do just that, as he says in Matthew 28:19:  “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”

Serve

One of SOTH’s core values is “Impacting the Greater Community and Our World through our Compassion and Generosity.”  This congregation loves to serve others, whether through the Alternative Giving Fair, the food drive for the Food Bank for Larimer County, supporting Faith Family Hospitality, the Homelessness Prevention Initiative,  or Lutheran Campus Ministry at CSU, we want to be involved in our community.  The ministries of the ELCA and Lutheran World Relief allow us to serve on a global level as well.

Another core value “Intergenerational Caring Community.”  That is, we are intentional about connecting generations for worship, learning, fellowship and service.  Throughout the year there are many opportunities for all ages to come together as followers of Christ.

Multigenerational isn’t a buzz word for us; it’s part of our DNA!

We also have many ways to serve inside the church as well.  We have an active Church Council, Lay Assistant Ministers, Ministry Teams, Altar Guild, and many other opportunities to get plugged in!  Call the church office at 970-482-9692 for more information.

Learn

Education is a key part of our ministry.  We strive to provide students with a nurturing environment that helps them to grow in their faith becoming disciples of Christ.  “All your children shall be taught by the Lord, and great shall be the prosperity of your children.” (Isaiah 54:13) or “Lead me in your truth, and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation; for you I wait all day long.” (Psalm 25:5)  We have education opportunities for all ages.  All of our education classes are on Sunday mornings from 9:30 – 10:20am in between services.  We look forward to having you join us in one of our many classes.
