One of SOTH’s core values is “Impacting the Greater Community and Our World through our Compassion and Generosity.” We aspire to serve others humbly and in love, both inside and outside the church. Another core value is “Intergenerational Caring Community.” That is, we are intentional about connecting generations for worship, learning, fellowship and service. Throughout the year there are many opportunities for all ages to come together as followers of Christ. Multigenerational isn’t a buzz word for us; it’s part of our DNA!

Opportunities for serving the greater community include our Alternative Giving Fair (a fair trade market hosted at church in November), the FoCoLu Habitat For Humanity Build, the food drive for the Food Bank for Larimer County, the Homelessness Prevention Initiative, The Murphy Center, Catholic Charities, and CSU Lutheran Campus Ministry. We don’t stay inside our church walls; we want to be involved in our community. The ministries of the ELCA and Lutheran World Relief allow us to serve on a global level as well. Our service initiatives are divided into three major areas of focus (with some ongoing projects throughout the year). These include: Hunger and Homelessness, Stewardship and Sustainability, and Education and Empowerment.

We also have many ways to serve inside the church. We have an active Church Council, Lay Assistant Ministers, Ministry Teams, Altar Guild, and many other opportunities to get plugged in! Call the church office at 970-482-9692 for more information or pick up a copy of our ministry teams booklet.
