Music at SOTH

Shepherd of the Hills has a strong group of musicians who are dedicated to providing ministry throughout the year using an eclectic mix of song selections. Every group is open to members, so please feel free to join us!

Adult Choir is a group of dedicated members that volunteer their time and talents to assist in the Sunday morning worship services. The group collaborates regularly with instrumentalists and groups within the church  as well as with other area churches and visiting musicians. Adult choir meets on Wednesday nights from 7pm to 8pm, September through May, and is led by Pastor Dana.

Out of the Hills is a bunch of musicians who come together to enjoy the sound that bluegrass music brings to worship. This group includes banjo, guitar, fiddle, mandolin, piano, and bass, with vocals added by the instrumentalists or guest vocalists. One of our members composes original music that we enjoy playing! Mike Patterson leads the group and is always willing to include new musicians.

Handbell Choir (Re Bellion) currently rings four octaves of handbells (and occasionally chimes) once a month in worship services. Selection is varied and mid-level in difficulty utilizing a variety of ringing techniques such as “martelating” (striking the bell on the table pad) and “plucking” (reaching into the bell to flip the hammer). The Bell Choir is actively recruiting new members! Pastor says that if you can count to four, you can ring bells! Mike Patterson is leading the bells and looks forward to increasing the group and playing more frequently.

Lost SheepEvery once in a while, we gotta rock!  Lost Sheep is the rockin’ worship band at SOTH and they get everyone’s toes tapping.  Want to jam with the ‘sheep?  See Pastor Dana.
